Der Stiebner Verlag hat sein Designmagazin »novum« eingestellt. Die Abonnenten können von nun an PAGE (Ebner Media Group) beziehen und bleiben Kunden des Stiebner Verlags. // Stiebner Verlag has stopped »novum«. The subscribers can receive PAGE from now on and remain customers of Stiebner Verlag.

PAGE 02.2021 ist ein Novum – und das ist Auftakt und Auftrag zugleich. So freuen wir uns, mit dieser Ausgabe auch die Leserinnen und Leser des internationalen Grafikdesign-Magazins »novum« willkommen zu heißen, und begrüßen den vor uns liegenden Wandel. Ja, Sie haben richtig gelesen: »novum« goes PAGE. Der Stiebner Verlag hat das Traditionsblatt, welches viele von uns seit dem Designstudium begleitet hat, eingestellt, da es sich wirtschaftlich nicht mehr trug. »novum« geht nun in PAGE auf, entsprechend erscheint PAGE ab sofort auch zu Teilen zweisprachig.
Die Zeitschrift »novum – world of graphic design« und ihre Vorgängerin, die »Gebrauchsgraphik – International Advertising Art« haben in den vergangenen 96 Jahren Designgeschichte geschrieben. »novum« galt weltweit denn auch als eines der führenden Magazine rund um Grafikdesign, Illustration, Corporate Design, Druck und Papier. Und ja, als Printobjekt belegte sie auch selbst immer wieder eindrucksvoll, was in Sachen Druck, Veredelung und Material alles möglich ist. Gestaltung und Handwerk vom Feinsten!
Design ist natürlich mehr als Formgebung, es ist eine strategische und methodische Kompetenz, die wesentlich zur Transformation in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft beitragen kann. Und muss. Darum bieten wir fortan auch der »novum«-Leserschaft mit PAGE (est. 1986) nicht nur die nötige Inspiration, sondern darüber hinaus auch das interdisziplinäre Know-how für die Entwicklung überzeugender Kommunikationskonzepte, nutzerzentrierter Produkte und Services sowie kohärenter Markenauftritte über alle Medien hinweg. Wie sonst könnten wir Kreativschaffenden unserer Verantwortung gerecht werden, mit unseren Auftraggebern weiterhin die richtigen Themen zu setzen und: echte, faszinierende Lösungen zu finden?
PAGE verbindet seit jeher Bewährtes mit dem Vorausschauenden und dient den Gestaltern von morgen als Plattform für den fachübergreifenden Austausch untereinander. PAGE 02.2021 is also a novum – both literally and figuratively! We are delighted to welcome the readers of the international graphic design magazine “novum” and we look forward to the changes that lie ahead of us. Yes, you read that correctly – “novum” goes PAGE. Stiebner Verlag has stopped the traditional magazine that accompanied many of us through our design studies, and offers its subscribors the chance to receive PAGE. From now on sections of PAGE will also be published in both German and English.
Over the past 96 years, the magazine “novum – world of graphic design” and its predecessor “Gebrauchsgraphik – International Advertising Art”, have written design history and “novum” is seen all over the world as one of the leading magazines for graphic design, illustration, corporate design, print and paper. And yes, as a print medium, it has impressively proven time and again what is possible in terms of printing, finishing and material. Design and craftsmanship at its best!
Design is of course more than the aesthetic; it is a strategic and methodical tool that can make a significant contribution to the transformation of the economy and society. It has to. That’s why here at PAGE (est. 1986), we will from now on also be providing “novum” readers with the inspiration they need as well as the multidisciplinary expertise to develop convincing communication concepts, user-centric products and services as well as coherent brand images across all forms of media. How else could we fulfil our responsibilities as creatives, continue to choose the right themes with our clients and discover genuine, fascinating solutions?
PAGE has always combined the tried-and-tested with the forward-thinking and serves as a platform for an interdisciplinary exchange with the designers of tomorrow.
