Logic Records Save the Vinyl Logo 1993

Im Rahmen meines Kommunikationsdesign-Studiums an der Fachhochschule Darmstadt hatte ich ein bezahltes Hauptpraktikum unter der Ägide von Sascha Müller-Lüönd und Eike König im Art Department des Plattenlabels Logic Records (Snap!, Dr. Alban etc.). Dort half ich mit Plattencover an einem Macintosh Quadra 950 zu gestalten. Dabei kam es auch dazu, daß ich das später weltbekannte Save the Vinyl Logo aus Linoleum schnitt. Das Gestaltungskonzept stammte von Sascha Müller-Lüönd. Das Save the Vinyl Logo war ursprünglich ein Labellogo, bekam aber weltweite Reputation, da es überall auf DJ-Flightcases als Statement aufgefasst, klebte.

As part of my communication design studies at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, I had a paid main internship under the aegis of Sascha Müller-Lüönd and Eike König in the art department of the record label Logic Records (Snap!, Dr. Alban etc.). There I helped to design album covers on a Macintosh Quadra 950. It also happened that I cut the later world-famous Save the Vinyl logo out of linoleum. The design concept came from Sascha Müller-Lüönd. The Save the Vinyl logo was originally a label logo, but gained a worldwide reputation because it was used as a statement everywhere on DJ flight cases.
