PAGE gefällt …: Zeichnungen, Malerei und Grafikdesign von Sarah Boris aus London, die eine eindrucksvolle Karriere hat und in leuchtenden Farben und verschiedensten Materialien von brüchigen Regenbögen, fragilen Flaggen und der Kraft der Formen erzählt – und vom »Le Théâtre Graphique«.
Start Ich begann als Künstlerin, studierte dann aber Typografie in Paris (nach einer Grundausbildung bei Olivier de Serres und dann an der école Estienne). Ich zog nach London und machte einen Master in Typo/Grafikstudien am London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Mein erster Job war freiberuflich und mein erster langfristiger Vollzeitjob war in einer Kunstorganisation: Barbican in London. Anschließend arbeitete ich fünf Jahre lang am Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA, London), wo ich für das gesamte Grafikdesign (Art Direction, Druckproduktion usw.) zuständig war und mich mit den Kuratoren, dem Marketingteam und den Künstlern austauschte. Im Jahr 2010 gestaltete ich die visuelle Identität des Institute of Contemporary Arts neu. 2012 wechselte ich zu Phaidon, wo ich Associate Art Director wurde. In dieser Zeit habe ich die künstlerische Leitung übernommen und viele Bücher gestaltet. 2015 begann ich, mich auf meine künstlerische Praxis zu konzentrieren, und gründete mein Studio mit Schwerpunkt auf Kunst- und Designaufträgen. Ich hatte zwei wichtige Ausstellungen, darunter »Le Théâtre Graphique«, bei der ich mein erstes Künstlerbuch veröffentlichte.
Heute umfasst meine Arbeit Ich habe zahlreiche Ausstellungen. Am 15. Mai 2025 wird in den Pyrenäen meine Schau »Le Bel Ordinaire« eröffnet, falls jemand vorbeikommen möchte.

Ausstellungen/Sammlungen Meine Arbeiten wurden im Design Museum in London ausgestellt und sind Teil der Sammlungen des Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, des New York Centre for Book Arts, des FRAC Normandie, des MAK Wien, der artothèque Bel Ordinaire, der Bibliothèque Nationale de France und der Jan Michalski Foundation in der Schweiz.
Start I started as an artist but then went on to study typography in Paris (after a foundation at Olivier de Serres and then at école Estienne). I moved to London and did a Master in Typo/Graphic Studies at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. My first job was freelancing and my first long term full time job was in an arts organisation: Barbican in London. I then worked at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA, London) for 5 years where I did all the graphic design (art direction, print production etc) working with the curators, marketing team, artists. I redesigned the visual identity of the Institute of Contemporary Arts in 2010. In 2012 I went to work at Phaidon where I became Associate Art Director. During that time I art directed and designed many books such as JR: Can Art Change the World or a monograph of the wonderful product designer James Irvine. In 2015 I left Phaidon to focus on my art practice and that same year I founded my studio with a focus on art and design commissions. 2015 was an important year for my practice as an artist as I had a solo exhibition and made two of my most iconic pieces of work to date: »Fragile UK Flag« which is an artwork where I created the Union Jack using fragile tape and blue paper and »Le Théâtre Graphique«. My work today includes sculpture, drawing, painting, printmaking and design. This year I had four solo exhibitions: two in France, one in the UK and one in Germany. I am currently preparing a solo exhibition for 2025 in France at Le Bel Ordinaire in the Pyrénées which opens on 13 May if you would like to join for the opening.
