My name is Julia Sophie Plath and I am a freelance illustrator from Hamburg. In 2018 I finished my BA at the HAW Hamburg and have since been working mostly in Editorial. But i also have a passion for comic, animation and even picturebooks.

My illustrations are combining the oldschool, nostlagic, and melancholic of an old czech fairytale with a modern and colorful lifeliness. It centers around the self, doublegangers, family, feminism, womanhood, love, loss and nature.
I am highly inspired by arthouse movies and you’ll find many connections to the work of Ingmar Bergman and many other filmmakers in my art.

I love freelance commissions to be textually interesting and challenging and I am always up to try something new.
