About one in five children in Germany in age of 11 to 17 years show symptoms of eating disorders. A serious disease is often diagnosed much too late and the waiting lists for a treatment are long. They are left on their own.

I was affected by the disease myself. With the an.liv box I can help girls in age of 14 to 20 years to fight against the eating disorder such as Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa. The box is about the fictional girls an & liv. They are representing the two different voices in the head of an affected person. an.liv can be used in different modes – the aktive mode for working on an exercise, the inaktive mode for a break and the hide mode for hiding the disease from other people if necessary. In the mobile application it is possible to collect tasks which are done and search for like-minded people.

All contents of the box deal with an important health topic. They are not intended for self-diagnosis and are not a substitute for a diagnosis by a doctor. The content is designed only to provide general information about eating disorders, not individual counseling. Exercises and recommendations are formulated in general terms and may have a different effect on each affected person. They are not obligatory and are aim at support and motivate in the situation before or during a possible psychological treatment.
